Margaret Nicholls, the Angora Goat Judge at the 2016 Three Counties Show was so impressed with 14 year old Mitchell Snook-Bevis she has invited him to visit her farm in Australia and see how they do things over there.
The invitation is for August 2016 and as it is such short notice Mitchell is asking for any donations or sponsorship to help with the cost of the air fair.
Mitchell’s letter and a link to his go fund me page are here:
My name is Mitchell; I am 14 years old and very passionate about breeding and showing British Angora goats and the production of British Mohair, which we sell to the fibre and craft industry.
I am a member of the Bradworthy Young farmers.
I am very lucky to live with my parents who farm British Angora goats in the UK and also breed coloured Angora Goats.
|We were placed second at the Devon County show and I won the junior handler class with my 4 year old Buck Harvey.
This year at the Royal Three Counties Show which is the breed show for the British Angora Goat Society we took, The Grand Supreme British Angora Goat Championship, with Harvey my goat, which I handled and have been looking after, I also won the junior handler award.
Mrs Nicholls and her husband flew in from Australia to judge the classes and were so impressed with me that they offered me to go and stay on their farm in Victoria Australia and see how they farm and produce mohair, this August. I will be arriving in there spring time so it will be straight in to shearing and kidding.

I am writing to ask for any sponsorship money to help me fund this trip, as I was offered this trip only last weekend, it is quite short notice.
I have a part time job and will be doing car boot sales, to help to fund my trip, I also have a go fund me page “Mitchell farming trip to Australia”
This opportunity means a lot to me as I am hoping to have a, career in the production of British Angora Goats and British mohair, this includes farming, breeding and grading of mohair (there are NO Mohair graders in the UK)
